Robotics Class
TWHS Robotics is FRC team 9418, the Pastabots.
For the 2023 – 2024 season, we were a State and World Championship qualifying team, making us one of the most competitive teams in our region.
Students are required to be enrolled in a Robotics class in order to be on the TWHS FRC Robotics Team.
Robotics is a UIL event (like athletics or band), so we do have to follow UIL eligibility rules.
Students must take the required prerequisite courses in order to be considered for enrollment in a Robotics class (advanced math and science courses throughout high school).
There are a limited number of spots available in the program.
The Robotics program has significant co-curricular requirements outside of the school day, which include: regular after school meetings, weekend events, and overnight travel.
The Robotics program comes with required fees associated with enrollment and travel ($1500 for the 2024 - 2025 school year, but is subject to change in the future).
Robotics specialties include: design (CAD), mechanical (build), electrical, programming (students interested in programming are encouraged to also enroll in the Computer Science courses offered at TWHS), community outreach, and media/marketing. All students on the team will specialize in at least one area.
